The Orange  Pages is the largest independent directory on the internet and second largest in link content only to The Open Directory, although unlike them we do not allow multiple urls from one site, an example of Dmoz can be found here.  Neither do we accept pornographic sites.

*Please note - This is not a criticism, The Open Directory is entitled to its own methods, it is purely a demonstration of how we differ in quality of content;  We simply couldn't justify giving one site over 250,000 listings and not allow another site of equal quality just one place! 

We currently receive 1000's of applications a day and growing and whilst we have a fairly large editorial team there is still a long waiting list in most categories.  We have therefore introduced a method where we are now re-building 'On the Fly', so if you submit a site that belongs in a category not already here we simply build it for you within 24-48 hours.

It is a known fact that getting listed in directories like ours that have stood the test of time could improve your PR. Take advantage of this.

Terms of Submission and Guidelines to follow for success.

By using the The Orange Pages in any way you are agreeing to comply with these terms, which we may update without notice and encourage you to check back here at any time. To use The Orange Pages, you must be legally competent to enter a binding agreement..

Sites that will not be accepted under any circumstance:

Any site that contain any pornographic material.
Any site that contains racist material, or material likely to incite or cause offence to the general public.
Any Site that contains overuse of abusive language in any context other than in educational format.
Any site that contains illegal software or Warez
Any site that contains information relating to hacking, phreaking, Spamming or any other illegal activity.
Any site that offers access to any of the above content.
Any site that contain overuse of irrelevant linking in an attempt to gain popularity. 
 

Other submissions we will not consider.

Personal websites that are likely to be a temporary site or is of what is deemed as inferior quality.
Sites with a sub-page.  For example www.anysite.com/subpage.html unless it has significant differences
Sites with a load of totally irrelevant links pages.
Sites found to be submitted by automated means,  We have measures in place to identify if this happens.
Search engine marketing companies must advise us if they are submitting a clients site.

What we will also not review.

Any Site that has been submitted anonymously.  All sites are required to have a qualified e-mail address that receives an auto-response that does not bounce.  (We send out Reponses randomly and without warning.) 
We only ask for a genuine e-mail address to validate that the submission to our directory is solicited.  *We NEVER give out the e-mail addresses to any third party!*)
No sites submitted using a free account such as Hotmail, MSN or the like. 
No sites submitted with unidentifiable e-mail addresses such as xyxyxyxy@xyxyxyxy.com
No site submitted more than once in any single day.  Multiple submissions will automatically be blacklisted without notice.
Any site found submitting multiple submissions may also be posted on our blacklist board.

The right to entry into our directory.

You might think "What gives us the right to dictate what we put into our directory?".  We put it this way.... "What gives you the god given right to entry into our directory?"  Please remember that we are providing this service free of charge and potentially exposing your site and service to millions of internet users who otherwise would never get to see your website and therefore purchase or use your service.

Please remember, we re-review on a very regular basis and reserve the right to delete your entry without notice if we find the contents to have changed radically without notice to our editors.  Please note that Payment is for review only and is non refundable except for featured links which are not accepted; processing fees will be deducted. 

The right to appeal.

If you find you have not been listed in a reasonable period of time then you have the right to contact us Appeals.  We are not obligated to enter into any correspondence with regards to a declined site however we will endeavour to work with you to get you listed and where possible will work with you to get your site to meet our criteria.

Discretion over Content, Use, and Operation of The Orange Pages

We don't apologise for being strict in our criteria, it is an effort to provide only the best of the internet not the most as we feel will suit our audience who are primarily families.  Refusal does not necessarily mean your site is of poor quality or in any other detrimental fashion, it is merely a matter of opinion whether we feel you meet our criteria and we will always have a good valid reason for not accepting a submission.
